Rebecca was an angel for our family!
My mom suffered a heart attack in January in Ohio and then an ischemic stroke not long after in March. I flew in from out of town (with my 18 month old) right after her heart attack to be near her and help get her through. Between managing my mom’s various hospital stays and transfers from and to nursing homes and then back to hospitals, as well as trying to communicate with all of her doctors, and take of my son, it was clear I needed help.
A geriatric care manager from another town referred me to Rebecca. Immediately, Rebecca took over communication with my mom’s doctors while keeping me fully informed. She helped me research nursing facilities and found a drop in daycare for my son when I needed to be with my mom alone.
When my mom was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital after her stroke and then discharged not long after, my husband and I decided she needed to move near us (many states away from Ohio).
Rebecca managed all of the discharge plans, finding a nursing facility near our home and coordinated transferring all the necessary medical records and details, communicating with the doctors, nurses, social workers and administrators. She made all of the flight arrangements and acquired the necessary flight equipment (small plane accessible wheelchair and walker). Rebecca flew out with us and sat next to my mom, taking care of her the entire time. She managed my mom’s blood sugar, blood pressure and several other things for her throughout the flight. She even got mom — who hadn’t been eating for months on her own — to eat on the flight.
Everything went so well and it was all because of Rebecca’s knowledge as a RN, her detailed management skills and her genuine care and concern. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a care manager for their aging relative. She is truly wonderful and we’ll be forever grateful we found her.
